Position Overview:

As a Support Worker at Cay Health Care, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals live independently and with dignity. You will provide personalised support to individuals with various needs, ensuring they have the assistance required to achieve their personal goals and maintain a high quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming as needed.
  • Health and Well-being: Support individuals with managing their health, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and coordinating with healthcare professionals.
  • Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
  • Household Tasks: Assist with household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry to maintain a comfortable living space.
  • Independence: Encourage and support individuals in developing and maintaining their independence through skill-building and goal-setting.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals by following health and safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily notes and incident reports.
  • Communication: Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and other support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
  • Respect and Dignity: Treat all individuals with respect and dignity, honoring their preferences and individuality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a support worker or caregiving role is preferred but not required.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in health and social care are an advantage.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Certification: First Aid and CPR certification is desirable. Training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Background Check: Successful completion of a background check is required.
